The Downtown Rome Tennis Center features 22 dedicated pickleball courts. Groups gather to play in the mornings and there are many social gatherings throughout each month as well.

Pickleball is a game for all ages and abilities. Designed to be easy to learn and easy to play, pickleball is played on a badminton-sized court with wood paddles and a ball similar to wiffle ball, but slightly smaller.

Unlike tennis, where the game is often won and lost by the power of the serve, pickleball requires the ball to bounce once on each side before volleys are allowed. The simplicity of the game makes it appealing to a large audience and is one of the fastest-growing sports in America!

DROP IN (ALL LEVELS)

Everyone is welcome to join our regular players who play drop in most weekdays from 9am-11am. No partner needed!

2.5-3.0 live ball clinic

Tuesday 9:00-10:30AM

This session consists of back-court, mid-court, and net drills, followed by live ball games. Groundstrokes, approach shots, offensive volleys, defensive volleys, and overheads are all practiced in group games. It is a great way to work out while reinforcing strokes.

beginner PICKLEBALL courses – REGISTER ONLINE

MONDAYS 6:30-8:00pm

Designed for beginner adults, beginner Pickleball courses are 4-week, 4 month rolling programs that will provide you with the basic skills and knowledge to move forward with confidence in this rapidly growing sport! Each 4-week session focuses on a different technical/tactical theme. This is a great opportunity for those who have never played pickleball before and are looking for a clear path to begin their journey.

Perfect for players who have completed 101 and intermediate players who are looking to elevate their game by gaining confidence in their strokes, having longer rallies, and competing in tournaments.

Open play is an informal night where some of our regular players help make beginners welcome and grow their skills by playing pickleball with other locals.
