New Braunfels, TX (December 14, 2023) – Starla Roden, Pro Shop and Membership Manager of Rome Tennis Center at Berry College (RTCBC) and Rome Downtown Racquets Center, was recognized as “Support Staff of the Year” at Cliff Drysdale Tennis and Peter Burwash International’s annual Racquets Summit.
Since joining the Rome racquets team in May of this year as Pro Shop and Membership Manager, Roden has played a key role in elevating the member and guest experience and developing a strong pro shop team across both facilities. In addition, Roden spearheaded the launch of Playbypoint, a new POS software that was introduced in June at RTCBC and Rome Downtown.
“Starla has made a major impact to our team since the day she started,” said Colt Gaston, General Manager of RTCBC and Rome Downtown. “From supporting our staff with events and membership initiatives to delivering a world-class experience to every player that comes in our doors, Starla is a humble leader that our Rome racquets facilities are lucky to have.”
“Overseeing the membership and pro shop operations at the nation’s largest tennis facility and one of the largest pickleball facilities is no easy task, but Starla has met those challenges head-on,” said Scott McCulloch, President and Chief Operating Officer of Cliff Drysdale Tennis. “She is a prime example of the extraordinary work ethic and hospitality we strive to embody at Cliff Drysdale Tennis.”
The “Support Staff of the Year” award highlights an employee within Cliff Drysdale Tennis or Peter Burwash International who has gone above and beyond in supporting their facility’s success, as well as providing exceptional service for their members and guests. Together, Cliff Drysdale Tennis and Peter Burwash International comprise the largest racquet sports management company in the world and service over 70 facilities domestically and internationally.
