The 30 acre site will house fifty-one USTA standard courts to include six NCAA regulation courts, three center courts for tournament and collegiate play, one exhibition court, and twelve courts lined for 10&Under tennis. Additionally a 3,846-square-foot clubhouse with meeting and event space will overlook the courts.

It is anticipated the project will take ten to eleven months to build and is projected to be completed by June 2016. New South Construction has been contracted to build the Rome Tennis Center of Georgia which is funded by a special-purpose local-option sales tax (SPLOST).

The terraced design takes advantage of the natural topography allowing for views of rolling hills, streams and wetlands. Architect Mark Cochran shared details of the tennis center plans said, “This center will be the most beautiful tennis facility in the nation.”

Sammy Rich, City of Rome Manager, praised the collaborative efforts of public and private entities, local officials and citizens and also noted that these partnerships made the project a reality.

The facility will be conveniently located at the Armuchee Connector adjacent to the loop road by Mount Berry Square Mall and central to Birmingham, Atlanta and Chattanooga.

The Rome Tennis Center of Georgia is made possible through the public/private partnership involving officials from the City of Rome, Berry College, Coosa Valley Tennis Association, Greater Rome Chamber of Commerce, and Greater Rome Convention & Visitors Bureau.
